Motorola’s Android 2.2 powered Milestone 2 has been made available in the UK, promising a raft of features which could appeal to the business user on the go.
The Milestone 2, known in the US as the Droid 2, is offered for £379.99 SIM-free from online electrical retailer Expansys, and on contracts with various networks from free.
The device has a slide-out QWERTY keypad like its predecessor with support for SWYPE predictive text. On the messaging side there is push email, Gmail and corporate sync support with Exchange 2003 and 2007.
Business users will also be pleased to see calendar and contacts functionality, again with Exchange, Gmail and Google contacts support.
Other Google mobile services include Latitude, Maps Street View Google Talk and News and Weather widgets.
Under the hood the device is powered by a 1GHz processor – a step up from the 500MHz version of its predecessor – and comes with the latest version of Motoblur.
