HOW TO CLEAN & MAINTAIN THE LCD SCREEN OF DELL LAPTOP OR COMPUTER

HELLO GUYS , HERE IS SOME LAPTOP SECURITY AND MAINTAINING TIPS FOR YOU. AS YOU KNOW IT IS NECESSARY TO CLEAN THE MACHINE IF YOU WANT  TO WORK IT LONGER AND FASTER.

HERE IS SOME TIPS TO CLEAN YOUR LCD SCREEN AND MAINTAINING YOUR DELL LAPTOP AND COMPUTER.
FOR CLEANING THE LCD SCREEN:-

Caution:

  • Isopropyl alcohol is a flammable liquid.

  • Never spray or pour any liquid directly on the LCD panel.

  • Do not clean the screen while the computer is on.

  1. Shut down the computer.

  2. Disconnect power to the system or monitor.

  3. Wipe the LCD screen gently with a soft, dry cloth.

If any marks remain, moisten the cloth with LCD cleaner, and then gently stroke the cloth across the display in one direction, moving from the top of the display to the bottom.

Notice:
Do not use any of the following chemicals or any solutions that contain them: acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. If you have a different chemical or solution and are not sure whether it is suitable, do not use it. Using any of the chemicals in the previous list may cause permanent damage to the LCD screen. Some commercial window cleaners contain ammonia and are, therefore, unacceptable.
  1. Be sure the LCD screen is dry before closing it or using the computer.

Note:
Many cleaning solutions are sold specifically as LCD cleaners. You can use these to clean LCD screens on Dell laptops. Alternately, you may use a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixture. Microfiber cloths such as those used to clean eyeglasses are excellent for use with LCDs.

FOR LCD MAINTENANCE:-
      • Do not place anything heavy on your laptop

      • When using a carrying case or backpack, ensure that you are not over-stuffing the carrying case and applying extra pressure to the laptop case and LCD back

      • Do not scratch, twist or hit the surface of the LCD screen.

      • Avoid subjecting your LCD screen to extremes of temperature and humidity.

      • Avoid exposing your LCD screen to direct sunlight or strong fluorescent light for long periods of time.

      • Avoid hard physical shocks to the system.

Marks or stains can appear on an LCD due to a variety of reasons. This might be a mark transferred from the pointing stick, palmrest, or from the key tops of the keyboard when the cover was pressed from the outside of the portable.

HOW TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER TO YOUR TV?

In the old days, massive pieces of furniture dubbed "entertainment centers" housed our bulky TVs, stereos, and tape decks, and the idea that you could connect your computer to your TV was foreign.
Welcome to the 21st century where the digital world of movies, music, games, and more is just a click-of-the-remote away—and it's all available using a sleek entertainment PC.

Entertainment technology comes in more flavors than we could have dreamed a few years ago. An entertainment PC combines everything a regular computer can do—e-mail, Web, etc.—with the best of digital entertainment. Some of these new PCs look like a traditional receiver you would find in your stereo cabinet—yet others are smaller sized PCs that take up little space, standing vertically.

Following are some of the fun things you can do. Make sure you talk with your sales person to ensure your new computer does some or all of the following:
  • Record, rewind, and pause TV (even live TV) with the digital video recorder capabilities and incur no monthly fee.

  • Listen to music from an online radio station and other streaming sources, MP3s, or your CD collection.

  • Use standard PC functions like e-mail, the Web, and productivity applications.

  • Play the hottest games on your TV.

  • Share and organize your photos using your TV screen, not the small monitor on your PC.

  • Play and burn CDs and DVDs and even personalize them with your own look. Check out this article "Make Your Own CDs and DVDs" to learn how.

Getting started

Any retail electronics store that sells computers should offer a selection of entertainment PCs. Consider these features and options:
  • Windows Vista* is a great choice for an operating system (OS), building nicely on the functionality of Windows XP* Media Center Edition 2005, adding great usability features and enhancements.

  • Make sure the entertainment PC you buy has a TV tuner card so you can watch live TV and enjoy all of the benefits of digital video recorder functionality.

  • Who doesn't love a remote control? Yep, you can get that with your entertainment PC too.

  • Look for Intel Inside® including Intel® Graphic Technology built in—no need to purchase an expensive discrete graphics card.

Although most TVs built in the last ten years or so will work with your entertainment PC, some of the more recent TVs are really spectacular, with your TV acting as a monitor. If you don't already have one, consider taking the plunge into HD TV and even better, one with PC inputs. And make sure you know what kind of video inputs are on the TV you will be using (see the discussion of plugs and cables below), because you'll need to match them up with the rest of the hardware.

A word about plugs and cables
There are a variety of plugs and cables that you can use to move video signals around in your entertainment setup. Your choice of connection will affect the quality of the picture. The connection type you use may be limited by what kind of plugs your TV has for video inputs (the more advanced connection types will likely be found only on the newer, higher-end sets), but you should use the highest-quality choice that is available to you.

Setting up your entertainment PC

Setup is easy and straightforward. First, read through the user guides, quick-start guides, and other manuals that came with your equipment. That documentation will be your main reference guide during setup.
  1. Connect the cable outlet to your cable box with a coaxial cable, if it's not connected already.

  2. Connect the video and audio outputs on the cable box to the inputs on your entertainment PC.

  3. Connect the video output on the entertainment PC to the video input on your TV.

  4. Connect the audio output on the entertainment PC to the audio input on your audio system, external speakers, or TV.

  5. Power up the entertainment PC and launch Windows Media Center* using the Start > Programs > Windows Media Center menu option.

  6. Follow the wizard to complete setup and configuration.

MAKE FREE CALLS FROM INTERNET TO ANY NETWORK

HELLO GUYS TODAY I AM GOING TO TELL YOU "HOW YOU CAN MAKE FREE INTERNET CALLS FROM YOUR LAPTOP OR PC.
Why make calls over the Internet? You have an aunt in Australia, a cousin in Chicago, a sister in Maui, and your mother just moved to some obscure village in Peru.
When you've got a lot to catch up on, the last thing you want to be concerned about is getting off the phone quickly to save on your phone bill.

More and more people are making phone calls all over the world using their high-speed Internet connections. They are comparable to an ordinary phone or mobile phone, and it's usually cheaper than what you'd pay for a normal phone line, and in some cases free if you're calling someone who has the same Internet phone service as you.
Don't miss a call. Not ever.
With sophisticated features like voicemail, call forwarding, and video conferencing, it's possible, depending on which service you use, to never miss a call again. It's just like using your Internet connection to send e-mails, but for phone calls instead.
Referred to as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), all you need is a computer and an Internet connection, and you can start dialing. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
  1. Download VoIP software and connect a compatible headset to your computer, or

  2. Use a special adapter or handset that connects directly to your broadband service (DSL or cable).

So let's get started!
Step 1. Find a VoIP provider
You'll need to use a VoIP service provider with a service that's compatible with your computer. There are lots of different options out there including Skype*, a free VoIP software provider that allows you to make free voice calls to other Skype users. You can also call other numbers for a fee.
But you can also look at these providers:
Step 2. Get the software.
When you visit Skype and click the icon to download free VoIP software, it will prompt you to save the program files in the folder on your computer that contains the files for all of your other software programs. Make sure your system has enough disk space and memory to use the software and that your Internet connection is fast enough (transmitting at least 256 KB of data per second). Follow the instructions to register your details with Skype over the Internet and wait a few seconds. You'll receive an e-mail confirmation outlining your chosen (free!) subscription level and your VoIP telephone number or name, which others can use to call you.
Step 3. Get the equipment to talk.
The next step is to get a handset or headset that you can plug directly into your computer to access your new Skype VoIP service. With a quick search in your search engine you can find compatible handsets, headsets, microphones, and Webcams (so you can see Mom in living color!). Great search terms to use are PC headsets, PC mic, or Webcam. You'll get a list of great online retailers and reviewers of what's out there!
Or, if you have one of today’s newer computers, you may have a Webcam already installed. And with the increased performance you gain from a newer computer you’ll experience smooth continuous audio and video without lags.
Step 4. Start dialing!
Once you've plugged in your headset, or launched your Webcam you're ready to dial! Simply enter the number into your VoIP program's user screen and dial. The software will look up the number via the Internet and route the call straight through. Now your online phone book will work the same way as your e-mail address book, alerting you when friends and family are online!
Now you don't have any reason not to call. Call now, call often, and talk as long as you want!

Intex unveils India's first projector phone

intex first projector phone
A mobile phone with built in projector, called V Show, has been launched by Intex Technologies, a domestic mobile handset company.V Show costs Rs 12,000 and will be available starting

December 1 in Intex and other multi brand retail outlets.Ramesh A Vaswani, executive vice chairman of Intex Technologies, said, "I am confident that Intex V Show can change the way people watch movies, videos, picture galleries and even read e books on their mobile phones."

He added, "We expect to sell about 75,000 units of this handset by March 2011 and aim to capture five to ten per cent of the Indian handset market by the end of the current financial year."

Sharing the company's strategy, Vinayak Kumar Lal, the general manager of marketing at Intex Technologies, said, "The launch of V Show is one more attempt to consciously demonstrate that our mobiles can do more than just voice and message."
The handset enables the user to project movies and still images which are either stored in the phone's memory, or are streamed from the internet.
However, the mobile phone can't project images from a computer's memory. This means that content that is in a computer's memory will have to first be transferred to the phone's memory before it can be projected. The phone's screen remains active even while it is projecting images, and it has a clarity modifier to adjust the quality of projected images.
