Japanese consumer electronics firm AKAI on Tuesday launched its triple SIM mobile phone -Trio- in the Indian market and offers it at a selling price of Rs 3295.

The 'Trio' comes with a 5.1 cm (2") TFT screen, 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom, dual language support and audio player with equalizer. The handset hosts an inbuilt sound recorder and video player with video recording capability. Other basic features like FM Radio, Bluetooth (A2DP) , USB , E-book are also available with this mobile phone.
Though the device from Akai is not the first triple-SIM mobile phone to be launched in the Indian market, it is definitely the first device for three GSM SIM cards. The other triple SIM mobile phones available here are Wiz from Olive Telecom and 5030 from Intex Technologies. However, the latter two accommodate both GSM and CDMA SIM cards.
The company said that the phone will be available across 15000 retail outlets around India and the buyers would be provided with a one year warranty.
